FREE SATURDAY CLASS

EVERY Saturday our 9:30 a.m. class is free and open to the public!  If you want to see what we are all about, that is a great time drop in.  If you plan on coming in, please call or email in advance.

Our In-Box Competition will be held on Saturday, August 26th from 9am - 1pm.  This is for all skill levels!  Participants will be put on teams and complete 3 workouts. The workouts will be appropriate for scaled and Rx athletes, newbies and OGs. 

You are able to choose your entry fee & ALL proceeds/donations will be given to Trinity Life Ministries.

You aren’t going to want to miss this!  Join us for a great time with your favorite community and some great workouts, all while benefiting our favorite charity!

Our next athlete is Notch 8 OG, Tim Moser. Many of you know him by the hugs he gives as you walk in the door and the puddles of sweat that he leaves on the floor after warm ups 😉 We are so blessed to have Tim as part of our community 🖤

Tell us about yourself…family, job, hobbies. 
I am a husband of Lisa (35 years), proud father of 2 (Emily and Evan), grandfather of 4 girls (Mackenzie, Madi, Adyl, and Riley). I am happily retired after 31 years in industry, with 20 of those years leading global divisions of Praxair.  I enjoy CrossFit, disc golf, volleyball, hiking, volunteering at Trinity (a faith-based, one year rehab for those in addiction), and spending time with friends/family.

How long have you been at Notch 8?
Since spring of 2017. 
I started Notch 8 after retiring.  I needed to work on getting back in shape.  Best retirement choice I've made by far!

Road-trips and travel can make it hard to stick to Road-trips and travel can make it hard to stick to your nutrition goals. Here are some tips on how to help you and your family make healthier choices! 🚗 🗺️ 

    1.    Bring a cooler or lunch box - you can always buy more ice to keep things cool. This way you can have lunch meat, Greek yogurt, cheese sticks, and other cold items on the drive. 
    2.    Bring snacks from home with you - pack your snacks like you’re packing your luggage! Bring easy to eat, healthy items to keep you from grabbing things at gas stations, etc. 
    3.    Keep up with your water. Bring a large water bottle that you can fill up with ice and water whenever you stop as gas stations. Staying hydrated helps with bored eating, and cravings. 
    4.    If you have to get snacks from a gas station, pick healthier options. Premade protein shakes, beef jerky, protein bar, skinny pop, veggie straws. 
    5.    Use going out to eat, and fast food as a last resort. Instead of stopping for fast food, stop at a grocery store and grab things to make wraps, or another healthier choice. Save calories, and save money.
Newbie fitness"er" here. I've been attending Notch Newbie fitness"er" here. I've been attending Notch 8 since last fall. I am very intimidated by weights and equipment, but my first time there, I was so welcomed. All the coaches are great! I love that they offer a "fundamentals course" for those new to weightlifting. They ensure your form is good before picking up a real bar. I needed that. They also provide a lot of session times and "burn" classes for the days you don't want to lift. I love the workouts, the confidence I've built, and the community. Highly recommend!
